James Drury Welcomed To The Saddlers By Sean Flanagan
Legendary Cowboy Star ‘The Virginian’ Came to Ireland for the first time to track down his County Roscommon relatives. The visit of James Drury created major interest not alone in Ireland but also overseas. It was the first time he set foot in Ireland, the land of his ancestors and he met up with Drury family relations in Kingsland/ Frenchpark areas during his visit.
He Visited The Saddlers Inn In Kingsland, Boyle And was greeted by Many Of His Fans.
While Visiting The Saddlers He Also Had The pleasure of Offically Opening the new extenstion Which is Named "The Drury Room"
The Virginian was a western- themed television series, which aired from 1962- 1971 for a total of 249 episodes. This was the longest running Western serial in the history of television.
